Has studied life stories in depth, especially the Latvian identity in Sweden. The head of the master’s program, as well as coordinator of the international master’s program in Latvia. Has been involved in the development of the national research program «National Identity» and the «National Development Report». Is particularly interested in issues related to the Latvian diaspora, the study of diaspora identity and transnationalism.
