Internal Seminars of the Project «Navigating Post-Exile: Transformations and Transitions in the Latvian Exile Community after 1991»

During the first months of the project, the research team held regular internal seminars to discuss topics essential to the successful implementation of the project. These included the biographical approach and its application in exile and diaspora studies, the content and accessibility of the National Oral History Collection, as well as methodological guidelines and practical aspects of conducting biographical interviews.
On 24 February, Elvis Friks, a doctoral candidate in literary studies at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia, who is also a member of the project team, delivered a methodological seminar entitled «Literary Theory and Methods ». His presentation explored the origins of postcolonial criticism, its application to the interpretation of post-exile texts, and the use of oral history sources in literary research.

The project is funded by the Latvian Council of Science under Grant No. lzp-2024/1-0114.
