Researcher at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Latvia, chair of board in «Life-Story», Latvian Association of Oral History Researchers. In 1987, began to compile a collection of written memories - «People’s Archive» at the Latvian Culture Foundation. Since 1992, «People’s Archive» has been partially included in the National Oral History collection and continued as a research project at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, University of Latvia. Participated in field-works in Great Britain, USA, Canada, Sweden, Germany. From 1996 to 2006 organized 11 joint field-works in different regions of Latvia in cooperation with Maija Hinkle, the project manager of the American Latvian Association’s Oral History project. Publications in scientific journals in Latvian, Estonian, English; author, editor and compiler of oral history editions, digital audio-visual compositions.
